edge loop soft selection 3ds max

Does someone know if its possible to do this? To only let the soft selection affect a particular edge loop?

Ideal would be if you could select edges you only want it to affect then move the vert on the edge to adjust.

this would be the best tool ever.

Anybody know a maxscript for this?

You can paint soft selections in Max. So, select the loop, turn on soft select, and paint out the parts you dont want selected.

Anybody know how i can freeze selected vertices to keep them from moving?
This would be good to limit your soft selection to only certain loops.

If its not in by default, anybody know a script for it?

Or select the loop and use FFD modifiers...not quite the same feel though..maybe hiding verts not in the loop will freeze them?
