Sup guys, this is my first time posting a project on here:)

This project was inspired by a scene from blade runner and a 3D blade runner environment I've come across on the internet.

At this point I'm working on the lighting, post process stuff and texturing. I'm having a bit of trouble getting nice crisp shadows in my scene, so if you guys have any tips it'd be greatly appreciated. Also I'm getting some funky ambient occlusion around the trash can, where the shadows aren't meeting up to the edge of the trashcan. Anyway, here's the WIP. C&C appreciated.

Some of my inspirations:

A scene from the movie

A 3D scene by Ilya Nedyal, Steven Chagnon and Alina Gal

And finally, my WIP scene:

Some of the Ambient Occlusion settings are found in the World Properties menu. The rest of them are found in the Content Browser(I think). Do a search amongst the packages for FX_HitEffects and open up the UTPostProcessConsole. There should be something that has the properties for the AO in there.
You usually have to turn on your lightmaps for crisper shadows and maybe up-res them a bit.
As for your scene, it would be nice to see some references to see what your going for so we could offer some advice.

@Bretmcnee Sorry bout that, the scenes in UDK.

@Paulsvoboda Thanks, I remember using that before. I'll look for that. Also, I'll post up some reference in the original post.

    This is a good start.

I would avoid using the Banksy graffiti pieces as well as any other artwork not created by you in the scene. It wouldn't fly in at a game company, so I wouldn't do it in a portfolio piece.

Also whatever the object is that is right in front of the camera is too low res to be right in front of the camera.

Will do, I'll look into royalty free stuff as well as probably do some stuff of my own.

The screens in front of the camera have a slight depth of field to it. That might be what's making it seem low res.

    Thanks for the feedback.
