BEAT-EM-UP! | Mode Magenta
I've long been a fan Japanese cinema especially the period samurai films - Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, The Sword of Doom. What I'd like to create is a heavily wooded, moonlit scene containing traditional Japanese sculptures/buildings, bamboo and tall trees. Possibly even a temple in the distance.
I'd like to go for a distinctly painterly style for this challgenge. My inspiration for the art side of things consists of a mixture of the film Ninja Scroll and the video game Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
Aims:
- Create a rich 3D scene using a distinct painterly style in the vein of Ninja Scroll and Muramasa. Will give me an opportunity to improve my 2D painting skills.
- Utilise a free tool for the majority of the 3D work and learn use the program in the process (Blender for consideration)
