Nice. Looks a bit like, in an alternate reality, Red Riding Hood actually died and came back as undead, and is now out to hunt down the big bad wolf (In this case, Worgen. It is WoW after all). Must be the red hood, hahah.

For hand painting textures like these did you start at higher resolution document and lowered it down? The final texture is at 1024x1024, did you paint at 2048x2048 and scaled down or just straight at 1024?
Pix- I always work with original texture size and use "Smart sharpen" at the end. There is also manual sharpen technique, when you paint a contrasts on your texture.
I really truly thought that was a digital painting... then when I saw the video I was like NO WAY! That's has to be the coolest 2D/3D hybrid I've seen.
