Not sure if this is the correct thread to post. However I've been in contact with a company wanting a lo poly vehicle done and want me to make an offer. I am really unsure how to price this and don't want to undersell myself.

I think it would take me 2-3 days to make this asset, what would rate or flat price would freelancers price this at? In canadian currency.

Such a noob question but i've never done any freelance before this. Thanks :)

I am not a freelance artist so take this with a grain of salt but if I am correct freelance artists base it on estimated amount of hours it will take for you to finish, and then the difficulty of the piece.

I think you should just charge what you want to be making for 2-3 days of work.

Be sure to include what you want to earn + living expenses + business costs + tax you will likely have to pay as a freelancer. You should also come to an agreement with the company on what constitutes a minor revision VS. extra work beyond the scope of the contract and charge accordingly for that.

Be sure to get a signed contract that details the scope of the work and pay, and don't negotiate anything over the phone (because there is no written record of what was agreed upon), but if you do... then take notes and include the pertinent details in your contract.

    Good luck :)

There are some other freelance threads around here which have better/more advice than I could give, try a search.
