The Plan- I'll be using Unity, but trying to make it look as current gen as possible (normal maps, light maps, etc etc)
- Something original and fresh, not an old school remake.
- It's main purpose is a portfolio piece, but it may turn into a web-game after the contest is over.
Challenges- Finishing the project and having it on par with the top entries.
- A cool map that you'll want to play in, but it also tells a story.
- Coming up with an original look and style that works
Hope everyone has fun with this contest, and enjoys my piece!

(the first piece I removed a giant goat, cause this project is about the environment :P)
Good luck man, got my eye on this one too!
Sorry to hear about your wacom I hope you get that fixed up soon.
What do you mean by wrong?
To Zac: I'm highly interested in this art style.
This is that color transition I'm going for, and in order to have the progression I want, its going to have to have a ~1:20 ratio, been doing some style tests, I'll post some of the results soon
Got a clear understanding of how your going to blend the 2 distinct colours so it doesn't look out of place.
I think it would look wrong if it was, blue blue blue. RED!!! RED!!! etc
Calm Before the Storm (Blue)
Suburbia crammed cookie cutter house
Dark Stormy (Gray-Purple)
Ghetto suburbia
Riot/War (Fire)
City
Remnants modern society (post apocalyptic Brown)
post post apocalyptic :P (gray brown)
My vote goes to making it a web game
I'm mostly trying to figure out how much ground/sky/background I want showing, I THINK I'll have the furthest background objects ~100% self illuminate, mid ~75%, up close, ~50%, and there's going to be separate models/textures for each distance.
I'm actually thinking about printing out the UV's and hand drawing the textures with pen/air brush.
