I'm having some problems with the lighting in Max 2010. The problem being that everything appears to be way too bright.
With no lighting within the scene and all the settings at their default stasis, this is what I'm getting from a standard render;

The render looks the same with a skylight within the scene too.
The funny thing is, the model looks fine in the view port, just not when rendered.
This is making my ambient occlusion maps look all screwy, does anyone know the solution here?
Thanks.

The Gamma/LUT correction usualy let thigs appear brighter.
Thanks for all the help so far guys by the way, I swear I never had this problem with Max 9...
Otherwise, try applying the texture to another object.If it comes all right then check the hat's object properties vertex color display.
I changed the setting from what is seen here to not having any exposure control and it's working like a charm. Thanks for the help guys, you've been great!
Just out of curiosity, what do the exposure settings control exactly?
