Job Summary

Answering to directly to the Production Manager, the Codename Lead Artist is part of a core in-house development team. The Lead Artist will work on several projects throughout the year, primarily building 3-D virtual items, objects, art and animations in Maya. The Lead Artist will have primary responsibility for art direction on internal projects, and managing asset and asset delivery from outsourcers. The position will include advising external development teams, and assisting them in establishing a content pipeline.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Duty/Responsiblity. This position requires extensive knowledge of Maya.

• Duty/Responsiblity. This position is directly responsible for the art direction for internal projects.

• Duty/Responsiblity. In alignment with the extraordinary needs of an independent game development label, the incumbent must oversee and execute the establishment and management of a content pipeline for internal projects.

• Duty/Responsiblity. In support of the creative content being produced by Codename, this position will be directly responsible for overseeing and creating 3-D virtual items tied to Codename’s projects.

• Duty/Responsiblity. This position is responsible for strategic planning of art direction tasks for the year, and establishing a milestone schedule for asset delivery and item creation.

• Duty/Responsiblity. Working with the Production Manager the incumbent will help
chart a course for hiring and outsourcing to satisfy the full art development needs of the Codename studio.

• Duty/Responsiblity. To the degree necessary and appropriate, provide support and
participate in the establishment of content pipeline for external projects.

Skills and management of art development and content creation process.

Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
A passion for awesome games and innovative content.


Credentials and Experience
• 1 –2 years of related experience
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.
