We just got back from our 10 day trip to the UK and we had a blast. I fell in love with Edinburgh pretty bad - its the most beautiful city I've been too so far. I'm a sucker for age & history and it certainly has it.
We literally just got back an hour ago so I don't have any pics up yet, so instead here are some generalized observations and a picture of me all sweaty from the very top of St. Paul's...
- Scotland, very nice people. Almost 'Canada-nice' :P
- Riding motorobikes between traffic is pretty cool.
- The women in the UK are very easy on the eyes. Very, very easy on the eyes.
- 3 pints for lunch before returning to work? Awesome.
- In a single day I saw a Cage, Pollock, Monet, Dali, and Picasso. Only to then see a Maybach and Veyron just an hour later. My eyeballs needed a cigarette from all that sex.
- The tube network is fucking insane. And I thought the TTC was busy.
- I drank cider pretty much exclusively on my trip. Bulmers & Magners, draft.
- Haggis, I love it.
- Beans added to a typical breakfast? I don't love it.
- One of our hotel bills from London (Luna-Simone) was $690 Canadian for 4 nights. The room was probably 150 sq. feet
- The London Eye was awesome.
- I tried to bite a guard for a picture, it went well.
- We flew a total of 5 flights and a total of 25 hours.
- The train from London to Edinburgh was beautiful. Uncomfortable as hell, but beautiful.
- Edinburgh's 'Underground City' tour was a lot of fun, even just for the random history you learn along the way.
- I did the bus tour of Edinburgh twice.
- The 'new town' of Edinburgh is over 300 years old. Canada is 143.
- Seeing so much history in a city contrasted against modern capitalism was depressing. It really made me wish for a time machine.
- British Airways is, so far, the best airline I have flown on.
- The coins you use for currency look so old that each time I reached in to my pocket for some money I'd smile or giggle as I felt like I just discovered treasure.

Anyway. Good that you had a nice time. England is pretty cool.
I'm with Wahlgren on this one...
Are you sure you went to England?
Good to hear you enjoyed it though, considering how awesome my trip to Canada was, it's pleasing to know the reverse worked just as well.
We only get 1 photo?
Seems like you had a great time, dont forget to post more pics!
Sounds like you got ripped of at that Hotel though, especially if it wasn't in Zone 1 of the tube! Judging how much you liked Edinburgh it seems to me that you should visit Prague, Paris, Barcelona etc. sometime! You wont need your timemachine there
Haha, oh wow.. XD
Fixed.
I visited Scotland for a few weeks when I was younger, loved how rural it was and spotting rare hawks for example in the countryside.
The majority seem to find it quite depressing in a joking way and are always screaming to get away to other parts of Europe. Sounds like you had an awesome trip here.
The Tate Modern museum was chalk full of 'em.
There you go,fixed that up for you.:)
I have a theory that when the Vikings invaded England they stole the women and left the horses behind. Go to Scandanavia, they have the most beautiful women on earth, its mind boggling how many they have and how down to earth 99% of them are.
They do love foreigners though so that might be why
I'm gonna be quiet now.
I dont get your post.. backs to the ground.. and whats wrong with that exactly ?
lol
But I agree with you regarding Edinburgh, its awesome and I really want to go there again, with a proper camera and take pictures of the architecture, kinda skipped that when I went there for the Fringe Festival
So you went to the rural places, the High-lands then?
I was sitting on the bus when four hooded Seven year olds with shaved heads kept spitting at each other and flicking lighters on and off.
The term for that is 'Ned' or 'Chav'
: D
I heard that Viking females have beards...ya know like lady Dwarfs ^^
Glad you had a cool time Adam
Speaking of which. I'd love to visit some highlands aswell. Get some edinburgh action on. I think i have a weak spot for scotland... might just be the whiskey though
Switzerland:
Sweden:
hehe
Well, I guess its the mocking of the British women, that kinda got transferred to the Canadian ones cause Adam said they were purdy..
Well I live in Toronto and its crazy how much multiculturalism there is in the city. Get a variety of women
^^
I love Edinburgh too, my sister went to university there, and my brother is moving up there next month, his girlfriend's got a job at some astronomy place there. I will go and visit them
