Yeah, I know the art style goes way back but I mean the placement of spikes and the tunnel layout, I remember player a very similar level in VVVVV. Not saying it's a rip-off or anything, it's still broad enough to be nothing more than a coincidence.
Well, it's the same genre of game, so spikes and hallways are always going to be pretty similar. How many combinations of "box + spikes" can you make? Could also be an intentional homage.
Anyways, the animation looks really slick and the physics of the character are pretty interesting. It's kind of a shame it's about dusting. Underwhelming theme for how good the game looks.
The things that kept me playing were, the concept at first, the music, the hardness as in if you dont get 2 S you wont get a key to the next level(s).
The replay system is awesome, so that you dont have to go on youtube to watch it while you are trying to figure out "How the fuck do I clean this stage?"
I bought it yesterday, but really have to get used to the controls... I suck at the moment . Is it possible to make it work with my gamepad? (I have bought the game on Steam, and have an XBox360 controller for my PC).
Awesome game! love the visuals and slick anims. I can tell its going to be a game thats hard to master but when you do it'll be like being neo in the matrix.
Small crit: I'm not entirely sure the music suits the gameplay. Needs something more up beat. Might try turning music off and have some banging techno on in the background.
EDIT: oooh, just realised it has video playback on the high scores. Those runs are sick! Need to get me a highscores.
I am not sure if its bugged or not, I'll try restarting the game and all, but at some critical places like (the parts where you have to be on the roof,) jumping would work, but double jump to reach the roof or jump and dash / dash and jump combos dont work.
For whatever reason (maybe I just need to remap my controls or something?) I have a very hard time with the ctrl/z/x/c control scheme. outside of 2 buttons on my left hand I have a very hard time with these sorts of setups, I always had a lot of issues with ROM emulation and such as well.
Yeah, i use a controller... it should be quite easy to switch it in the menus.
Ahh you have to set up every button seperately... you can't just set it to "controller"... kind of annoying because I can't push start to go to the menu etc. (have to put aside the controller, and hit escape ).
It's a pretty hard game, i still have to get used to the controls.
This game is awesome, finally got to try it the other day. I use an xbox 360 controller as my pc gamepad and it works perfect, binding is easy and fast. I can use the back button instead of hitting esc as well. I recommend this game

I'd say it's an intentional reference, super meat boy was full of that.
It's a pity the character stops on that broom sweep attack thing, kinda breaks the flow of movement but che'yeah looks great totes gonna pick this up.

one of my better runs!
How many tries did it take you?
And do you have any other impossible runs that you are going to post on youtube?

You guys use a controller to play this game?
