thanks mate will try and see what i can do 1 simple question... is it possible to bake a Normals and AO with just a planer of that model ore does it have to cover the hole Mesh?
ok 1 more noob question just to clear it off. Optimizing the mesh to a decent amount and using that as low poly works fine? thanks fr your time man you have been very helpful
Unrelated to the baking problem, but personally I would suggest making all of the stones a seperate subtool. You can then alt-click on them to select, and you'll only affect that stone with your brushes. It saves you from having to mask things out all the time, and you can then rotate/scale the stones seperately afterwards. It's just more flexible, I think. You can import it all in one go and then seperate them into subtools in zbrush, no need to import stone per stone.
I totally agree with Mighty, it also helps to keep each rock an island unto itself so you don't have to spend a bunch of time ironing out the waves caused by sculpting on other rocks, like what you see at the bottom with the long flat stones. It also helps provide crisp edges around your stones so they look like rocks set in mortar, rather than blobs extruded from a surface...
It also helps to have a mortar subtool, this way you can quickly create masks for your stones, which comes in super handy later on when doing materials.
