I see some people modelling and they have a reference picture as the background, I would like to know how to put this into 3ds max so I can use the Reference to directely make my model. Does anyone know how to import a picture as the background?
I was just going to say that, and then I read the last part of your(racer) sentence.
Definitely use planes, though I put them a bit away from the origin instead of intersecting. Like such:
This allows me to rotate around the object somewhat undisturbed, while still giving me the required guidelines in the front/side/etc views.
I also don't use 2-sided materials but do turn on backface culling. That way when you look in the front viewport you look straight through the back blueprint.
Lol just noticed that my topview is pointing the wrong way, oh well you get the idea.
