Decided to try and build my first environment, and try and learn UDK at the same time.
The general idea is to build sort of like a warehouse environment.
Started with some basic stairs.
What I'm not to sure about, if this is good enough as a low-poly and start texturing?

And yeah, that faceted look is basically what I'm going for.
Managed to get my stairs into UDK, which on it's own is an accomplishment for me
Also started doing a basic block-out for the rest of my scene to get a sense of scale.

Do you have an idea of what the overall environment is going to look like? Perhaps sketches or inspiration pictures so that we have an idea of what you're going for in the long run.
On a side note, If you don't mind me asking, how are you doing the collision for your custom assets? Are you making the collision geo out of blocks in your 3D program, or a different way.
