Working on a flag for a level, I was wondering how I need to animate it in a way that it loops to look like the wind is blowing it. I'd imagine it's a scrolling tileable deformation map or something, but I don't really know how to do it, and can't seem to find a good tutorial(or any for that matter). How can I animate the flag and bake out the animation?

My only guess. You can actually pin a plane down or something and actually apply physics to it and wind modifiers so that it actually floats and waves like a flag but stays on a pole or whatever if I remember correctly.
