We are seeking ambitious and creative Environment Artists to work on World Assets or Terrain Sculpting. This person will work closely with our art team to create unique and diverse assets that will pull the player into our universe. Candidates should have a strong understanding of environmental design as it applies to game play and should be able to successfully execute those ideas in engine.
Environment Artist World Assets
Responsibilities:
Build and texture assets to the specifications and high standards needed
Communicate and work with designers and artists
Adapt to conform to the established art style
Closely follow art and design concepts
Have a thorough understanding of pipelines and art integration into the game
Contribute to the creative process through original ideas and inspiration
Participate in critiquing your work and the work of other artists
Work with the entire development team in an energetic and creative environment
Requirements:
Able to produce assets in 3D Studio Max in a timely fashion, meeting the quality and hi standards set forth
3+ years of professional industry experience as an environment artist
Excellent understanding of environmental design and its functions within a game
Excellent understanding of lighting, mood, and color
Excellent fine art skills
Excellent knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Photoshop
Candidates must show an aptitude for learning new systems quickly
Architectural background a plus
MMO experience a plus
Environment Artist - Terrain
Responsibilities:
Sculpt & Texture terrain to the specifications and high standards needed
Create convincing and thematic environments that feel natural and compelling
Communicate and work with designers and artists
Adapt to conform to the established art style
Closely follow art and design concepts
Have a thorough understanding of pipelines and art integration into the game
Contribute to the creative process through original ideas and inspiration
Participate in critiquing your work and the work of other artists
Work with the entire development team in an energetic and creative environment
Requirements:
3+ years of professional industry experience as an environment artist
Experience with any proprietary terrain sculpting tool
Excellent understanding of environmental design and its functions within a game
Excellent understanding of lighting, mood, and color
Excellent fine art skills and texture work
Excellent knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Photoshop
Candidates must show an aptitude for learning new systems quickly
MMO experience a plus
