HI!
I start new model, to help my friend in school. I`m make basemesh and try to find proportion.
I always make female characters, and now I have a litle problems with male proportions
I hope I finish this time.
I`m make overpait, because my friends tell me chest are too tight. What do You think??
Replies
I think the new one is too boxy, the old one looks more natural to me
Too smooth?? Secound pic it`s shot from ZBrush. Dosn`t know what You mean
I will show wires when I come back from work, but it is basemesh, polycount and isolines are not important.
I`m work a bit with this character. No time to make more ( I have holiday). I must finish few details, but half body is done. If You have sugestion about anatomy please write or draw it. Each time I make character I must learn anatomy again
I hope I have time to make it faster. Update soon

check anatomy from real life photos not anatomy charts.
Plus, that would look boring, even if it was realistic.
Digging this.
Powerlifting is a form of athletics.
Wrestling is a form of athletics.
Strongmen are athletes.
Bodybuilders are not, and consequently have different physical characteristics. Principally, disproportioned shoulders, lats, biceps, and legs.
As for the shoulders thing, you might get this due to them not being aligned with his hip-bones, a common proportion. Don't think that's a negative tho.
Only crit is his elbow seems to rest too low.
Mayby someone have time to make paintover??
I think your version has more character.
Shotgun's paintover is definitely solid, recognizable, and what i'd probably draw if i was asked to make a big strong dude on a contract or something but for personal work why not go with the unique/cool bodytype that the modal has now!
I will say, though, those knarled up knees are way too much of a focal point atm. The lack of sharp detail anywhere else compared to them is awkward, you need to punch up some of the more angular shapes in other parts of the legs or tone down that super deep creasing.
quads need work, they looks like sagging balls of fat
and some seperation of the calves would look nice too. I don't think I've ever seen calves like he has there.
