Today Illfonic announced we're using CryEngine 3
It's been a huge learning experience jumping fresh into this engine, and what a powerful tool it is. What you see is literally us getting the tools and winging it. Luckily, the good people at crytech are sending out some people to train us up on the tech. So you can be sure the next images we'll completely blow these away.
Here's a picture of the level set I put together;

Just don't work so late that you get arrested =P
It looks a bit garbled for a competitive red vs. blue style shooter, though. Makes me curious about the art direction behind it, and what kind of focus it's meant to have.
looks brilliant
have fun using our tech!
Shad0wForce: I'm really enjoying it. They both have subjective pro's and con's that people will argue about how they like or don't like something. But honestly, I've been putting art in lot of different engines over a decade. So at the end of the day, it's an honor to be able to work in either tool set because they both make my art look so good.
People have no idea what a golden era it is for us right now. with UDK and Sandbox and all of their documentation freely availible. There's no excuse for anyone showing art outside of a real time environment (I don't even second glance portfolio no presenting art in a game). We're not banging our heads just to see a shitty model using a limited color palette. It's an exciting time now. As much as I enjoy work, I look forward to going home and learning more about it.
