Software Developer [aka Programmer] - Keele University

Faculty of Health
School of Pharmacy

Software Developer
Salary Grade 6: £24,273 per annum
Duration: Temporary, 1 year fixed term

As a skilled software developer you will support a 3D digital art team and continue development of bespoke software designed by the School of Pharmacy. You will assist with the design and development of user-input systems that use textual analysis software ("free-text") to simulate communication with computer generated characters. Using the .NET/C# platform, the post will also involve integration of tracking hardware (e.g. HMD & electronic 'wand'/'gloves') to allow a user to interact with clinical environments designed by the team.

Some experience developing software for game engines such as UDK, Unity or XNA is desirable. Knowledge of shaders and game engine scripting to trigger and display animations would be advantageous. You should be proactive in researching ways to improve quality and productivity of our software.

The post will involve working with the School's IT team and external clients in the development of virtual clinical environments for education and training applications.
