Gameplay Programmer -- LightBox Interactive

Gameplay Programmer:

LightBox Interactive is looking for talented programmers to join our burgeoning studio. As a gameplay programmer, you’ll be responsible for collaborating with design, content, and engine teams to produce the high-level runtime code that makes our games a successful reality.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


*Programming behaviors for characters, vehicles, weapons, AI, HUD, and other core gameplay systems.

*Creating and maintaining clean, stable interfaces from core gameplay systems to high-level game script, such as LUA.

*Interfacing with the game design team to refine and develop tools for game creation.

*Fleshing out, expanding, and implementing game designs.

*Evaluating and integrating 3rd party technology when required.



Additional Requirements:


Qualifications:


*Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or demonstrable equivalent experience.

*Minimum 5 years experience programming in C++.

*Proficiency with basic 3D linear algebra (projections, transformations, etc.).

*Enjoys iteration and refinement.

*Solid instincts for game design, feel, and fun.

*Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

*Ability to estimate scheduling, and work to a deadline.

*Self-motivated, with excellent communication and creative problem solving skills.

*Collaborative attitude and a willingness to accept and give constructive criticism.



It’s an extra bonus if you have any of the following, but these are not necessarily required:


*One or more shipped titles, taken from pre-production to Gold.

*Modern console programming experience (i.e. PS3 or 360).

*Network game state synchronization experience.

*Basic understanding of game design.

*GUI programming experience.

*Experience with concurrent programming.

*Experience with LUA.
