This looks great so far. I was wondering: how many polygons are you using for the hair? Will you use that many strips in the final model or is this something you plan on smoothing out and then baking down onto some larger planes? I've always wanted to do Final Fantasy quality hair, and I was curious to see how you go about producing yours.
Only nitpick I have is that I think the top eye lids should be a little thicker to create some distance from the eyeballs. Really nice modeling!
BlackulaDZ: Haha maybe at some stage when im good enough to do her justice man...
polygonbutcher: thanks man!
moose: ole! face first.. then eyes... THEN ass!
Stefan: Bang on, I widened it a bit
gsokol: Thanks man, i dont quite know yet - just goin with the flow.
haikai: Good spot man, ive given that lid more depth now! I think the hair will end up being pretty high - im not sure how high yet until i get the result im going for.. But ill definately aim to bake out some larger planes for the base 'helmet' and lay some thin ones over the top to try get some depth going on... hair is tough. DAMN final fantasy!
Nice sculpt! It seems like her shoulders are a little too broad for the rest of her frame. Maybe thicken the torso and enlarge the head to get the proportions evened back out?
looks fantastic so far man! really like your past work so I'm looking forward to this.
would you mind sharing tips/advice on how you did the hair? did you do it all manually? splines then path deform? how'd you go about it, and how do you plan to sculpt/transfer/handle that later down the line?
As for shoulders - some women do have broad shoulders and they can be pretty sexy. What I would do is just lower them a notch, so that her clavicles form more or less straight line, like this
Wow, hazardous, smokin' stuff! And the hair is really great. I wonder how you have the patience to make all those strands.)
Anyways keep up the good work I want to see it finishied!
I never thought that I would be so blown away by hair modelling but you have suceeded in the unthinkable.
really beautiful stuff, my only tiny crit is that the sternum appears a little sunken, doesn't detract from anything though....looking forward to more updates.
I like it a lot, awesome job on it so far. I'm really liking the anatomy. It's subtle but all of the detail is there and it's sexy.
One thing kinda bugs me though. The pose of her mouth makes her look like a mouth breather. When I look at the images I can hear her as if she was standing behind me. Not really a big deal as I'm sure it's not going to be the final pose.:)
~ Man, I've got so much love for pretty much everything you make Hazardous.
You're my homeboy for life!
Maybe look at how flat the forehead is, especially the transition from nose to forehead looks like there is hardly any change of planar direction. (Just a tiny nitpick really coming along strong)

I'm curious to see what you do to make them look yin/yangy. Seems like this should be a pretty cool piece.

woog: haha so true man!
More hair business - also some crosseyed business going on, will fixup next time!
Started chipping at the torso - wont define too much really, shes going to be wearing a sleek elegant dress and some nice heels.
I'm definitely keeping an eye on this thread! Love everything about it so far!

How long did you spend modeling out that hair?
