Art Director -- LightBox Interactive

Art Director

As odd as it sounds, this title means different things at different studios...even though it shouldn't. What it means for us is a very seasoned and incredibly talented artist that has come up through the ranks and demonstrated that right blend of creative vision, communication skills and team work. An Art Director at LightBox Interactive oversees the style and tone of all the content the art team produces including models, textures, lighting, as well as the game's over-arching visual design.


Responsibilities:

Work with studio directors, publisher and design team to establish and document the game's visual style.

Clearly communicate visual direction to both internal and external teams.

Tune the lighting and color palette.

Create high quality look-n-feel illustrations to depict intended visual goals.


Qualifications:

Has experience in directing visuals on successfully shipped high quality titles.

Very familiar with content production techniques in game development.

Fantastic drawing and other other traditional/digital artistic skills.

Working knowledge of Maya.

Leadership and communication skills.



Bonus skills:

Understanding of contemporary rendering and graphics methods to aid in communication with the engine team.

LightBox Interactive, inc. is an independent game studio founded in January 2009 by former team members of Incognito Entertainment. We're a small and dedicated team of experienced developers that have been making games together for over 10 years.

Our team is comprised of members that made significant contributions to the games Twisted Metal:Black, War of the Monsters, Warhawk and all of its expansion packs. We're currently engaged in a multi-year, multi-title partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment America developing games for the PlayStation family of platforms.

Our studio is located in downtown Austin, TX, in order to take advantage of Austin's creative culture and its well established game development community.
