Character Art Progress thread

Yeah, so I started making this character. I drew out a concept but I think I wont stick to them proportions and stuff. I've started the face so far.

The idea of him is supposed to be like an island/tribe/orphan kinda thing. And I want to keep the eyes round and buggy lol...



So anyway, this thread is to show my progress. Crits are appreciated

Its... its looking into my soul! Seriously creepy.

I know you said you probably won't keep the proportions from the concept, but personally, I like the proportions in the concept more than in the model. Most notably the broader chest and shoulders. Looking good otherwise.

It looks like you fused the character's shorts with the rest of his body. Wouldn't it be easier to sculpt the shorts out as a separate piece?

Hey, I done a load more... I am not too sure about the back though. I couldn't find any reference of how I wanted it, so some of it is an (educated) guess, lol.

I still gotta do hands, feet, shorts, headband and hair, but anyway, check it out crits appreciated

I would suggest making those ropes around the pants separately and bring it in as a subtool.

iv finished the hands and feet! (I should really have modelled the toes separately on the base model ¬__¬, this was so awkward to do)

and in case your wondering.. the nails are separate, as I couldn't get enough subdivisions to sculpt them nicely)
