Hey Guys!
I wanted to be sure the papers were signed and that everything was in order before i made this thread but I am very Happy and excited to announce that I will be starting at
Digital Extremes as a Environment Artist starting on July 13th (a day after my birthday so its an awesome present).
I want to send out a huge shout out to two individuals that helped me throughout this process and will be getting some beers bought for them when I am out there!
Jay (
JasonLavoie) and Anthony (A-Train)
without you guys this wouldn't be happening so i am in your debt
Also a huge shout out to the Polycount crew for helping critique my work over the years without you guys i wouldn't be the artist i am now.
Im super excited and cant wait to start!!!!wish me luck :P
P.S : Does anyone who has done a big move know of any good moving companies in Canada that do international moving (Province to Province)? I want to get the moving out of the way as soon as possible.

Congrats,
Jay has been keeping me informed about you. Telling me that you got an interview and such. Awesome news man. Best of luck at DE
I thought you were working for BioWare?
As for your move, I did the same thing, but from Calgary. My starting date was only 2 weeks from my interview, so I had to set things up pretty quick. A lot of companies were booked, but I was able to get in with Great Canadian Van Lines and I had no problems with them. Just make sure to check the BBB before picking a company.
Ive moved across canada from van to ottawa once, but I only packed what I could into my car for the long ass drive, so dont think that helps.
grats
Cant wait to start working with all the talented folks over at DE!!!!
But yuh man, you deserve it, and i can't wait to start working with you, its gonna be fun!
Cant wait bro! forgot to mention that i will be moving in with Jason and having pajama parties every night!
now you and jason can be BFFHEO (Best friends humping Each Other)
I just did a huge move, but did it in a really weird way. I had to do international though, so the shit I had to deal with was probably a lot more complicated than what you'd need to deal with. I actually sold off most of my stuff and mailed the things I wanted to keep - everything actually made it fine minus a few glasses. Really cheap too...When looking at moving companies though, just make sure to read the fine print or look into them before signing a deal. Some moving companies will actually quote you a super low price but then tack on costs at the end like storage fees and shit that wasn't agreed upon in the first place.
The reason why I sold off and just rebuilt is that I didn't meet the weight requirements / weight minimum to get a moving truck. so, I basically would have been paying out of my ass to move just a few big items.
Congrats!
Gav
they are great
GL!
@Seforin:I will be pad locking to washroom doors to make sure Jason isn't hiding anywhere :P
@Gav: Thanks for the tip, ill be sure to look at the fine print before i sign anything.
@Lonewolf: do you work in-house or freelance for DE?
