Cool to see a Gnomon grad publishing an awesome DVD. I'm just at the end of Term 3 right now, look forward to checking your DVD out dude, big fan of your characters.
Nice, its looks pretty awesome, I haven't modeled many characters, but I notice the edge loops on the breasts are pretty different from most models I've seen (they are normally loops of circles), just, I looks like yours would animate better, but is there any other advantage?
Just a small question, how in depth is this? I bought "character modeling for production" a while ago, and that was more of a generalized workflow overview than a tutorial, and im wondering if this is more of the same thing.
just got this, quick question, im attempting to a build a character based portolio at the minute for games. i notice in the dvd you dont model the interior of the mouth? should i be doing this or just model the lips as closed?
yeah the model is taken to the level just before i resurface and texture. i find it easier to sculpt the upper lip overlap without having a mouth bag. i just add it later then tidy up the sculpt before i bake. you definitely need the interior.
I'd like to buy this, but every time I've tried over the past 2-3 days I get an error at checkout from the shopping cart software. "Unable to process account data at this time. If this problem persists, contact our support department." I have heard from others attempting to buy that they've received the same error and have given up on trying to buy it. You may want to pass this along so that it can be fixed.

Telling by the preview video it's fairly in-depth. I know what you're talking about where some of these DVDs are just awesome sculptors showing off how awesome they are with very little focus on actually teaching. This doesn't seem to be the case here probably because poop shooter, as a recent graduate, knows your pain.
I wish there was dvd available covering full game character workflow including retopo/baking/texturing.
There's a very real lack of texturing dvds out there. Gnomon seriously lack that area on their otherwise very impressive catalogue.
Looks like an interesting DVD but it goes over the same ground that so many other dvds/training kits do. If this were on the stages *after* modelling is complete, such as baking maps, doing the colour/spec/etc. (in Maya, not Max as thats all you ever see for 'games' stuff) then I'd buy it immediately.
So they come to you and ask for a specific topic? Interesting. Keep us updated with the follow up DVDs then, I'll definitely buy them for the texturing.
just watched the first chapter of the dvd. looks like it will be very promising. learned a bit from it already with using the grids in photoshop for reference plane setup.
The people that are having problems downloading should email admin@thegnomonworkshop.com and tell Fernando about the specific error codes, your names and approximate time of purchase.
Looks interesting man, I'll have to check this out. I tend to model a lot of dudez so getting to know the process and approach for a a chick is a nice change of pace. Congratz man
And I'd really like to see gnomon put out some texturing tuts, also. Preferably something that goes in depth with how to achieve a painterly look instead of using an abundant amount of photo-source texturing.

Congratulations
If you torrent you suck! People need to support artists!
I don't have the money to buy this right now but I hope that I can do so in the near future.
Congratulations to you as well
Thanks for your support guys!
