Yeesh ,coming back to this is weird, seeing all of this old stuff.. ack my eyes.
Edit
After much deliberation and persuasion Makkon got me to join. And to say the least, I still feel intimidated by all the talent here hah. Critiques are very much welcomed
Currently I'm a Fine Arts student, but I do dabble once in a while in the world of concepting. Perhaps one day even work in an industry that requires some sort of creativity. For now, time to now hone my skills.

Ladies and gents, I'd like you all to welcome Allan to Polycount. He's been a longtime friend of mine, and as you can see he's a fantastic artist.
Allan, I'm not trying to flatter you when I say that you have a certain charm about all of your work. Your unique style and strong rendering just brings out the real character of everything you draw. And I know you have more than this, post it!
actually, it's similar to what gauss does on his blog , with the musical theme to help set the mood for whatever idea or concept he's presenting (he hasn't done it in a while, but if you go back a couple of posts you'll find some examples. Damn those people who have naturally good taste in music). Regardless, it's a great approach, and you've got some cool stylistic work.
Cheers!
Practicing skin tones
And no worries on your first model, learning the technology is a real beast, so I feel you.
Going to second what Makkon noted though on the textures, the soft brushes give you a nice way to get your shapes defined pretty efficiently but I think you could afford to later go over it with some harder brushes. Same texture isn't going to work for metal/silk/hair/skin/various cloth materials, etc.
It's definitely a neat style though, I'd love to see more finished works.
I'm looking forward to seeing your 3D model!
Hope all is well! Thanks for stopping by.
Edit Ugh gross university
