Hey everyone

I'm in San Fransisco for a day tomorrow and just wondering if anyone can recommend something to do, 3D related or not. I was here today as well and did the tourist bus, downtown shopping and Fishermans Wharf. I was hoping to do Alcatraz tomorrow but it's booked out which sucks.

I was thinking about hitting the Presidio to check out the ILM buildings but if anyone can think of anything better let me know.

Thanks

The Academy of Science is pretty amazing, although it can get really full on weekends (best get there early if you go).

The arboretum in Golden Gate Park is also pretty awesome, and unlike the Academy, free. Both great reference sources if you do a lot of organics.:D

Hiking up Twin Peaks is really fun and makes for an amazing view, but only if you've got a few hours and a lot of energy to kill.

    Have fun!

    Grace Cathedral
    Bring a sketchbook.

    :)
None of this is really 3d related but:

The DeYoung, next to the academy of science, is cool if you're into museums and that "old school art" stuff.

The ILM buildings look nice, but they're all keycard locked so its more just walking around the Presidio. Though there is a Yoda statue outside one of the main ones if I remember correctly.

Ocean and Baker beaches are decent, if you feel like spending time on the beach.
Chinatown is fun, and you can usually find good food, and inexpensive gifts, and all the street signs are subtitled in Chinese. :D
Near the end of Chinatown and the border of northbeach is Jack Kerouac Alley, which leads to Citylights Books and Vesuvio (wife's favourite bar) Has some cool quotes in the street and a mural on one wall.

Plenty of cool things to look at and browse through, and stash away as reference material, but nothing I can think of that is specifically 3d.
