I was messing around with some FX art recently and ran into a situation where I was trying to create an epic cloud of smoke rising out out of a burning building and wanted other particles such as embers and flames in there as well. The problem was that the flames and embers kept popping in front of and behind the big smoke particles.
How do engines normally handle the sorting of particles do some engines deal with it better than others, and are there any tips or tricks you guys have?
