Jim Jagger has a Align Animated script, used it just this morning. http://www.jimjagger.com/Pages/Tools/index.htm
It aligns one object to the other and sets a key. Really handy for baking animation.
You can also save/load animation.
Animation > Load/save (2010 and up).
File > Load/Save Animation (2008-09).
In the curve editor you can also copy different tracks like position X from one object and paste it onto position X of another using the right click menu.
If you right click on "transform" and choose copy it will copy all the tracks for position rotation and scale.

STEP 2: Choose Copy. Then go to the other object’s same track and Paste.
