So hey. Haven't used maya for ages and I'm now quickly relearning the steps so employers will love me more. I'm kind of under pressure to finish this as quick as possible so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I got a high poly door (a basic one but still).
Here's a shot of the lowpoly + highpoly together + high poly settings.

All is fine and well and I go about my business as usual expecting it soon to be over but no! Fate has something else in store for me!

The door itself is "smoothed" but the bolts are the pre-smooth shape. I've done other bakes in maya in the same way and this is the first time i'm getting this issue. Seems like it doesn't care about the subdivs at all.

Id take a look in the attribute editor for the render itterations
I had to use smooth under the mesh-section.
So yeah. Someone should hit me. Punish my stupidity. :poly122:
Well at least i know.
Simply convert the smooth preview to polygons when you need it. Convert > Smooth Preview to Polygons. Voila!
