The hat seems really out of place in the set, and also out of place sitting on top of the Demoman's head like that. Not sure how to fix it though...

Also, how does that melee weapon scale to fit the Demoman? Realistically, a razor should be pretty small, but a melee weapon also has to be visible from a distance. What do you plan to do to solve both issues?

    Stuff looks good though!

dont use a brand name for the melee.

I'm really only feeling that sticky launcher so far.

    This.

Other than that, I like the theme, fantastic set. You might just want to go for a black-and-white striped pillbox hat (you could call it "pillbomber's pillbox")

Maybe you could make reference to some of these (I'd particularly note Her Majesty's Young Offenders Institution, Polmont if you're going from the whole childhood thing.)

You should also remember that the whole "killed his parents" thing was kind of redacted during the WAR! comics, when it showed the Demoman's mother laying into him present-day.

Wasn't his profile added to recently?

Edit: This is from the TF2 wiki, I'm postive that the second paragraph was added just after the update.

A fierce temper, a fascination with all things explosive, and a terrible plan to kill the Loch Ness Monster cost the six year old Demoman his original set of adoptive parents. Later, at the Crypt Grammar School for Orphans near Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands, the boy's bomb-making skills improved dramatically. His disposition and total number of intact eyeballs, however, did not.

Word of his proficiency with explosives spread, and it was not long before Crypt Grammar received two visitors: Demoman's real parents, who lovingly explained that all Demomen are abandoned at birth until their skills manifest themselves, a longstanding, cruel, and wholly unnecessary tradition among the Highland Demolition Men. His unhappy childhood had ended. But his training had just begun.

The melee weapon is the same as the paintrain, just with a razor instead of the nail. It is pretty much exactly the same otherwise. You should completely redo that one - name, shape, everything. I hate to make you start over, but he pretty much already has that one.

backburner is "pretty much" the flamethrower
direct hit is "pretty much" the rocket launcher.

Thing is, with so many awesome new entries that folks are willingly modeling from scratch for free...why would they pick something that looks same-old?

In the end it's up to the OP to decide what direction he wants to go with it, but I am of the opinion that the advice is good.

im really likeing the sticky launcher, but the hat, i honestly don't care for, its rather bland. nothing makes it stand out, other than it being small, witch just looks out of place.

OK thanks everyone for your input, I just want to explain some reasoning behind the hat and the melee weapon. The hat is worn by Adebisi, a character from the TV show Oz, throughout the whole show he wears this tiny little hat hanging from the side of his head, which he became famous for. http://www.democracyforamerica.com/uploads/0005/6974/adebisi.bmp

The Gillette Bayonet is another Oz reference, except that the shiv is in common use today.

After reading your posts I'm going to redesign both the hat and the melee, and allready have a couple of ideas. Cheers
