This should be in General Discussion and it should probably be called 'post your inspirations" or something.
For content, I've just started reading BLAME!, which is a very dark cyberpunk manga that has some fantastic environments and really, really, awesome, cyborgs.
I've been reading THE ART SPIRIT by Robert Henry and have been writing down quotes as I read that stand out to me.
"Those that do not begin, cannot finish."
"You are to give the craftsman in you a motive, else he cannot develop."
"... being but a mere patching together of many concepts - unrelated factors nevertheless cunningly interwoven - there is not in them that surge of life, that unity which is the mark of true organization."
"No vacillating of uncertain interest can produce unity."
"Faces are not permanently beautiful to us, nor are landscapes."
"Be shorter in words and longer in meaning."
"The beauty of the larger mass is primary to, and is essential to, the lesser mass."
"A tree growing out of the ground is as wonderful today as it ever was. It does not need to adopt new and startling methods."
"I LOVE the tools made for mechanics. I stop at the windows of hardware stores. If I could only find an excuse to buy many more of them that I have already bought on the mere pretense that I might have use for them! They are so beautiful, so simple and plain and straight to their meaning. There is no "Art" about them, they have not been made beatiful, they are beautiful."
I've been less and less involved in other people's art especially in recent years since the focus has been on my own, but if anything the most inspiration I've drawn from any one source has to have come from playing video games.
Just looking at some of my games, the most inspirational ones to me would be;
metal gear solid 4
uncharted 2
gta4
mirrors edge
left4dead 2
resident evil 5
bioshock
batman AA
team fortress 2
and a few of my all time fav's
xenogears
chrono cross
metal gear solid
vagrant story
final fantasy 7-9
Mirrors edge is a huge inspiration to me, and I similarly find that Solar Fields, the group that did the music for the game, are a big inspiration for dreaming up new ideas.

Hadn't heard this before, but loved Mirrors Edge. Really nice music to listen to. Thanks!
This remix is good too, it gets better towards the 2nd half
i got myself a citadel miniatures catalogue. picked it up in a comic book store fore a few bucks and it was absolutely worth it. has hundrets of pages filled with wh, wh40k, lotr and other unit, building and terrain miniatures.
@dado: about the left image of david Jones, check Massimiliano Frezzato, especially "Keepers of the Maser" thats where its from and the original is WAY better, defninitely one of my sources of inspiration.
Hey Lefix, that's a cool idea! I know next to nothing about the Games Workshop stuff but I'm always attracted to the model designs when I see them shops.
I just checked out that catalogue on their website, did I read it right that it's 600+ pages!?
That's.... huge!
Would you mind putting a few more pics up of it? It's only £12 here but that's £12 more than I want to spend on a catalogue if it's not packed full of some awesome pics.

I love you so much,

tsutomu nihei's stuff is awesome.
Thanks for this
but for the most part, poking around the forums and looking at others portfolios gets me going the most
http://www.brianbridgeforth.com/drawings.html
I found this along with few videos of his so far.
According to his work flow, he would draw neatly on piece of paper and than scan it to import it in Photoshop to paint it.
I dont know if he is ever here on PC but does anyone know anyone's workflow related to this person?
Any related work flows will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: Make it, related Art style and the workflow.
Thanks.
