Class- Scout

The Popper is a replacement for the pistol. Developed by Mann Co. the popper is a raygun that does a little less damage than the pistol but has a quicker firing rate. Instead of reloading the popper has a cool down period.

Third item will either be a helmet or a replacement for the scout's melee.

I know I'm late to the game, but I missed this until now.

So instead of a laser rifle, I've decided to go with a closer replacement of the current Scattergun- The meteor shower. It's a flak cannon weapon, so it still has the spread damage functionality. However it does a little more damage at the cost of a slower firing rate.

Here are some silhouettes, again I'd love your opinions!

For the ray gun, I say number 9, and for the meteor shower I support number 2.

I'd say 8 and (2, 3, or 4), personally. The other cannons seem a little to sci-fi for TF2. It might be odd to say that when you've considering a friggin' laser gun, but I think it's still a concern.

Well because it's a different kind of sci fi, the Buck Rogers kind. The flak cannon falls into the Alien vs. Predator kind.

I like 7 with 5's nozzle for the raygun and 6 for the meteor shower gun.

Cheers for the input guys and glad to see you guys picked up on the inspiration I got from possibly the most overpowered weapon ever. In my opinion the meteor shower belongs in the TF2 universe because it's all about brute force, I don't think it's too sci-fi and would sit well in the Scout's hands as a replacement for the scattergun.

As for the Popper, see: Barbarella , that is all. In all seriousness though rayguns were a part of culture in the 50s-60s. I also based my decision on the fact that there is already a few sci-fi-ish elements to TF2. On the map side there is Nucleus and on the weapon side; the medi-gun and the spy's cloak.

I was leaning towards number four for the popper but it seems people like the classic raygun shape may have to reconsider.

I've just had a thought, what if I was to call the pistol replacement the "barbarella" and made it purely aesthetic. I could definitely use that in a back story.

I like the name Barbarella, though.
