late start because I didn't have a good idea at first. But, I remember a piece of art that came out before the Heavy Update that I thought was a really great idea: A man-portable BOFORS gun. So I looked it up and re-envisioned it a little. Got some other items in the works too... UPDATES TO COME!

It doesn't look anything like Bucks.
It shares the face plate idea and that's it. It's like saying Hitler and Salvador Dali where the same guy because they both had mustaches.

You realize people can submit similar concepts, right?

Like how half the mediguns look similar?
Half the demoman entries are cannons?
Half the soldiers have cold war/atomic themes?

It's not too similar, in fact, it's very different; Buck went for two sets of miniguns, he went for one big AA/antitank gun, which is actually the kind of gun that would traditionally have that kind of shield.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Yes I was going for a WW2 russian theme. I can post some of the images that I used as reference but honestly, I just took things from actual guns and applied in miniature for the AA gun and tweaked a few things to make it fit the slightly off-kilter proportions of TF2 so there wasn't much in the way of concept. Take my third offering: a simple trench knife:

Might need the Heavy holding the trench knives in his hammy fists, since his only melee animations are punching.

@khthon my plan is to have the Heavy holding the knife blade down so when he punches, he's using the knuckle dusters for primary attack, on crit, when he uppercuts, it will look like a slash with the knife. I went for this weapon since it would go well with his existing animation set. That being said, I might have to work on the bottom piece. For the real weapon the spike on the bottom was referred to as the "skullcrusher" maybe play that idea up a bit more to get something interesting to look at.
