The theme to my pack is medieval times. Around the times of crossbows, swords, and spears, Oh my! I'm not the best modeler out there, but I'm trying. The only other person involved in this is my friend, and he is only doing the renders. so far, all I have is the crossbow done, and I still have to finish the bolt/arrow, but here are the full ideas.
Christy's Crusader Crossbow (Still working on the name
)
+ Much farther distance at which arrow starts to drop
+ 20% Accuracy
- 40% Longer Reload Time
- No Zoom
- No Charge
Other ideas:
A Broken/Old Crown (Hat)
A Shortsword (Melee Weapon, obviously
)
A Blunderbuss (Secondary Weapon, I'm seriously struck out of ideas for this, but this is the best idea I've thought of for this)
I hope to make the Sniper much more versatile in the art of arrow sniping, while not being able to rush into combat like with the huntsman.

It's either that or a metal shield.
And xquake, yes, I fixed that, but that's an old render.
But onto the crossbow, I think if you're going for a medieval look the front you should use the common approach of having curved steel hold the actual strings in place. Here's an example for reference:

Also you may want to add some interest, if this crossbow is made of wood maybe it has splinters or battle damage on it, it's probably going to be rather old so it won't be in the best of shape.
Edit: ^This contest is about model design, not stats foo, give feedback based on the model design, k?^

Red communism, you make no sense.
"but the accuracy is pretty much the same. reload is longer, accuracy is less."
Accuracy would be the same as the sniper rifle, but'd you do more damage without having to charge up. And it's an alternative to the huntsman because it's more accurate, but doesn't allow spam because of the slow reload speed. Either way, stats don't matter as EvilShadow has said.
This is actually my first texture, I believe, I want this contribution to be all done by myself.
Sorry for the non-render.
*sigh*
This is utter fail.
Test, using simple colors from the TF2 Colour Palette.
Reference is your BEST FRIEND EVER.
Your 'bow' section of your crossbow is far to thick. Those are what gives the bow it's power. They have to bend, and being that thick they won't bend.
I might scale it a bit to make it thinner, but I'm not making it an exact replica.
