I secretly wished someone would do an "Inspector" theme for the spy, with things like
"ze harmless pocketknife"
"The Enforcer" (snug nose revolver)
and perhaps inspector Gadget's hat...
I like batman just as much as the next guy but it would be nice if there wasn't almost half a page dedicated to him in my tf2 entry thread, that is all.
here is an earlier render of what I had done with the shades. I kinda tore it a part though and am still messing with the proportions of things. the spy has a weird shaped head.

That's quite understandable, but there's no reason to be insulting while doing so.
been working on the revolver, and im not totally finished with the modeling, im considering having another go at the handle, but here is what I have so far.
and yes the sunglasses are intended to be a misc item so you can wear it with other hats.
thanks for the crits guys, I ended up scraping the handle and going for a more simple version. So this is pretty much the final model, unless ive made some horrendous mistake that needs to be corrected immediately, i shall be moving onto the watch.
I liked the old handle, the sharp edges of the old one gave it a professional feel, also, you have some triangular issues going on around the trigger/trigger guard area, I suggest you clean some unnecessary vertexes
yeah i wish i could have kept the handle but it was just too blocky and i was having issues with smoothing so i had to get rid of it. im hoping the newer one will be better overall, especially once i have textures on it. i went over the trigger guard again and i hope i got everything this time but if not then unfortunately i think it will have to wait because i still have 1 whole model to make! aaagh!
here is my watch model, its a bit plain looking but im planning on having the texture do most of the work. I did a second concept based on the picture cheezy posted earlier but i ended up linking the first watch idea i did more so here it is!
before i forget, i need to come up with names for these objects, and really im terrible with names so if anyone has some name suggestions for my sunglasses, revolver, and watch, id be glad to hear them!
LAST DAY! i dunno if i am going to make it but im just going to try anyways. here is a WIP of the revolver, im trying to finish this first because its the hardest, im also doing the watch at the same time but its still pretty early. glasses are last because they should be pretty easy. texturing is a definite weakness of mine unfortunately so crits and comments are always appreciated.
is the groove just bad in general? or would say a normal map improve it to give it some depth?
i feel like i need something in the handle to break it up and give it some interest otherwise its just orange.
oh yes thanks very much for the names khthon and jgoodroad. im not sure which ones i will pick but i particularly like the private eyes and the enforcer. i also thought of the sleuths shades.
alright i changed the handle a bit, is this feelin better? or should i just drop this all together and come up with something different, Its still a wip but i want to show my progress before i end up going all the way with it and turns out it still sucks.

While we're on the topic of inspector gadget, maybe have some sort of a satelite dish or mechanical arm reach out? :poly108:

Mistah J! Our problem just took care of itself!
