Hi all.

I'm new to the forums but I've visited Polycount quite a bit since finding a passion for 3D modeling about 6 months ago when I discovered UDK. although the original Doom started the love of games and game design back when I was a kid :p

Anyway, this is my first proper go at modeling a full, complex model, high poly, low poly, baking and texturing, the whole shebang heh. It's a plane from the early 1910s, a sports/racing plane called the Deperdussin Monocoque. I think it's a cooling looking plane especially for it's era, so I decided to model this. I hope it doesn't prove to be too difficult! hehe

This is still at a very early WIP stage, about 3 days so far.

I followed a tutorial for the render so I hope it looks ok and shows what it needs to. I think I have the basic shape and large parts down, I'll be working on the larger details next I think. Of course, any comments, please share!! Only problem is that almost every photo I find shows a different variation of this plane, I have a 3 view though so that helps a lot, although I'm not trying to make this completely accurate by any means. More of a guide

Also here's what I did before this, kind of a test bench, something simple to try out normal map baking and high poly detail and stuff, and also texturing. Obvious inspiration :p Going for the late eighties/early ninties chunky old tech look plus maybe some military.. or maybe just random crap haha. Anyway it was fun.
