TF2 - Polypack - tophermartini

Have never entered a challenge before but have been totally inspired by the items produced by the guys on the CGSociety TF2 group, time to join in the fun!

Am a big fan of playing combat medic which gives a lot of areas to explore…

Hope to post some concept sketches in the next week but for now some ideas are:

Sterilizer
- Melee weapon to replace the Ubersaw
- Shaped like forceps, scalpel, or a smaller knife-like item

Immunizer + Painicillin
- Secondary weapon replacements for the Medigun + Kritzkrieg
- Make it easier to distinguish which gun is being carried by a medic

Hat TBD
- Everyone loves hats…

Now it's time to figure out how to make these ideas a reality!

Thanks Swizzle, it's great to be hear and attempt some game design… writing code is fun but designing toys is better :)

The silhouettes in your thread look really interesting, is that typically the first phase in your workflow for pre-production? Any tips for all the first-timers in this challenge?

Not too much time to experiment tonight but something is better than nothing I guess…?

Might explore the brass knuckles idea further tomorrow but want to have at least 4 divergent designs before going too much further.

Eh, sorta-kinda. If I'm working on something that really requires a distinct silhouette, I'll often throw down some blobs to get an idea of what I'm working on. It helps get the creative juices flowing and lets me know if there are problems with proportions and such. They're also easier to work on than line drawings.
