Sorry about the low quality of the pictures I don't have a proper scanner just my camera. I will bump up the levels and contrast next time. I'll upload a color study, digitally, soon.

Hey man, I'd say focus on proportions and constructing the figure from basic shapes first,
try a few Loomis books.

@ vatsel Thanks vatsel I'll be sure to work some Loomis in my sketches.

I worked on some colors for this next one. I'm amazed at how time consuming it can be and I'm only to the rough color portion





As a note this is the same picture I used for the three heads on sketch page 1.

Any thoughts on the amount of time spent on one color study?

imho - you've chosen a bad photo to work with - it has a very bad b/w balance and colours are all weird and horrible.
+ Thats not a very productive way to do a painting - first do a base then the highlights and shade, that will make your life much easier and you will get better results.
