Hey guys whats up. I've decided to give up on my previous project after I got a new computer due to a virus. Now I'm going to start a new project. A next-gen character made with Dominance War 4 rules. The character is going to be a grisly goblin warrior. One that has seen much war in his day. Right now I have a concept, I just don't have a pic yet. I'll post it as soon as I scan it. But right now I'm going to tell you guys the workflow I want to do.
Concepting
Base Mesh Modeling
Sculpting the Base Mesh
Retopo the base mesh
UV Map the final mesh
Make all of the Maps
Rig and Pose character
I'm going to be doing all of this in only Blender 3d 2.5 and photoshop cs2. Any C&C on the character idea, workflow and such is always welcome

dont be discouraged just keep at it and never give up
You can go check the other sketch books out and see how they did it.
Or you can google "Idrawgirls.com" and start learning from there. There are more websites who teach the sketch tutorials, and drawings. The one I suggested is what I used when I started digital sketching.
Good luck. Do post your updates and thanks for sharing your current work.
I'd suggest you make your concept proportionate then.
If I were you I'd stay away from the dominance war specifications. 10.000 polies and multiple highres maps is something you'll easily get lost in. Try something simpler first, 1000 or so, with just a diffuse map.
-you won't get overwhelmed by the crapload of polygons you have to work with.
-the texture shows results immediately (no switching between blender and PS so often)
-it'll be done faster, which means more learning per time unit.
-you'll learn to work with restrictions better
-you can get a good realtime rendering in the blender viewport
And I agree with the others, it'd be wise to borrow someones concept, or possibly try to make a copy of a warcraft character. This'll give you a better idea of where to make changes, and how to add detail etc.

They should be more scrawny but still have some muscle.

Nose I made in about twenty minutes with no reference (the nostril might seem a little thin but I made it thicker)
