A handful of photos (in jpg format) on our home file server got corrupted, presumably a faulty file transfer during the server's setup. I've tried opening the images in a handful of viewer and editting apps and all come back saying the files are corrupted. Attempting to move, copy, or zip the files isn't possible, as any attempt of that spits out an error.
The file sizes appear to be about right (~1.5 mb each), so presumably all hope isn't lost. A quick search turns up a myriad of programs, so before I go run down the list blindly trying each one, I was wondering if anyone's had any experience with this kind of thing before. Preferably it'd be a free app, since this will only be used to fix ten or so files. This is likely to be the last server setup hurdle before I go about setting up an external, incremental backup to the server as well.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide!
