I was wondering if anyone knows why Zbrush wont allow me to paint masks on both sides of my model? I have back face option checked on inside the alpha option. I have mirror and symmetry etc all on. It will work if I use a large sized brush but if I go smaller the alpha I paint wont show up on the other side, but if I use a brush larger than 20 it will work but wont be as dark of a mask on the other side all the time. Any ideas? I am trying to do detail on one side and want it to go to the other when painting an alpha. It has worked before and I have never had this issue before. Thanks.

It is possible that the model is not exactly symmetrical or the center point is offseted to one side. That's why, if the brush radius is too small, it doesn't touch the polygons on the other side. Try to run a smart resym and see what happens.

You could just work on one side and then transfer the sculpt information over when you are done? I think Undoz might be right about the model not being symmetrical.
