Hey there,
I'm having a strange problem with Max, I can't seem to load a viewport background image.
I'm going through the 'Alt-B' menu and when I click to open the file browser, I can't actually open the image. The file browser displays and finds all the relevant images in the folder I navigate to, but clicking 'Load' or double clicking on the image does nothing. The 'Load' button isn't greyed, just completely unresponsive.
I'm not sure if it's a driver issue, I noticed when I click 'Devices' in the viewport menu, it shows no I/O handlers.
I've tried with both Max 2009 and the 2011 demo and get the same results in both.
I know I could just make a plane and slap the image on that but I prefer to work with the viewport background.
Any ideas?
Thanks

It looks like the problem is where the file is located.
I can load images which are anywhere within 'My Documents' but nothing which is in a folder outside of My Documents. For example, an image in 'My Documents/3D/Scene1/Reflplane.jpg' would load fine, whereas 'C:/3D/Scene1/Refplane.jpg' wouldn't work.
Can this be changed or is it a known thing?
Hmm it is a strange one, I'm the only one with access to this computer and I've tried the 'Run as admin' option which doesn't seem to help.
I guess it must be something to do with permissions as you say. No big deal but a little frustrating.
