W.I.P.-Rugged Man

Hey guys and gals. Back again working on a new character. The look I'm going for this time is a pretty boy that could still kick some ass. Inspiration for this is definitely some Hollywood type of leading male actors. Also i looked at a lot of work from Uncharted.

So here is a W.I.P. from Mudbox working on getting good anatomy, also really trying to get that rugged pretty man look. Also trying a new way for hair, if it doesn't work than i will be removing it.

The hair looks weird to me, hmm the rest is good, though they eyes are a lil bit too closed maybe.

gotta agree with cap here thers these like weird white squiggles in the hair that doesnt really ook like grays if thats what youre going at

It's been a little while since a new update, here is some w.i.p screen shots from Mudbox.

Changes- Ditched the hair didn't give me the desired look I was after. Tweaking done to face as well as body.

New- Added outfit, still working on the folds really trying to nail this.

If you want him to look more tough/rugged, give him a more pronounced jaw or chin.

Pants are still too lumpy. Does not look like jeans at all actually. So, find yourself some refmaterial, like, put on a pair of jeans :P And check out the folds.

Haha man these jeans are driving me nutty. I do have a lot of reference and I'm really trying, it just seems to be something i'm struggling with at the moment. Here is a basic breakdown of my thinking along with a update of the outfit.





Here are a few of the images I'm using for ref, I noticed that the top and mid region stays relatively flat while the bottom has various folds(every jean seems to fold different).

heh look good to me man .. about your jeans problem, just put on some jeans and take a look at the mirror

all so about the character him self the elbow is kinda strange ... on skinnier people the elbow is usually wider, and his upper arm's look like they are broken. other than that really looks good

keep it up !

I would Work alot more on the face, it looks too cheap, specialy the eyes, get more detail on the head, and you will have a very nice model, The body looks good enough, its just the head that doesnt seems to have too much detail on it.
