Hello. This is my first post, so I apologize if my question has been touched on before.
I am trying to animate an Egyptian flail like the one below.
Mine is a touch different, but has the same vibe to it.
I want to be able to have the beads move according to how the handle is animated. Originally I had a reactor Rope modifier on a spline, and just skinned the beads to it. I quickly learned that the geometry would still intersect, so I looked for some reactor tutorials on Google. I can't find anything that really points me in the right direction, so my friend directed me here.
My questions are:
1) Is it possible/practical to animate this using reactor and if it is, could someone point me in the right direction?
2) If it's not possible/practical, could someone suggest a good way to animate this?
The model is a school assignment. I decided I would like to try and animate it on my own time. None of my teachers have a good handle on reactor, so I decided to ask all of you.

IIRC Reactor is old and very buggy. I only have experience with Havok's tools, sorry. Did you try a search for rope tutorials?

If you haven't found these yet, i think they will be very helpful!
Thanks for the tutorials. The last one won't work, but I'll definitely look at the first two.
You possibly used something similar, but the way he splits his spline i think might make the difference for you.
