Summary:
Team Chivalry is looking for a talented character artist who will be responsible for creating high quality character assets for our FPS medieval warfare project. This person will work closely with our Team Leads to ensure aesthetics quality is kept at our high standards. This person will be well versed in creating low polygon models from low polygon meshes, in a realistic art style set in our gritty medieval universe.
Job Responsibilities:
Using industry standard 3D packages, this person will create art assets for our medieval combat game. These assets would include any character models, along with weapons and possibly props.
This person will participate in departmental meetings to share personal ideas, update the team on the progress of their assigned tasks, get feedback, and generally help define the look and feel of characters.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent communication, and organizational skills.
Strong interest in medieval art a plus.
Must be proficient in 3ds Max or Maya.
Experience creating low polygon models from a high resolution mesh.
Experience with high polygon (20,000+ triangles) sculpting in ZBrush or Mudbox.
Strong 2D digital painting and/or drawing skills a plus.
Strong UV layout skills.
Work Experience and Training:
Must possess good artistic skills and a working knowledge of 2D/3D art production.
Art and design experience on either a shipped game title or a released mod prefered, but not required.
