Model isnt showing up in Mental ray (maya)

So, i did an animation, trying to render it out in mental ray, but one of the models isnt showing up. It will render with maya software, but not mental ray. the model beside it shows up, and casts shadows. but not the other one.

anyone have any clue why?

does it have color sets applied to it?

Is it an instance, in a referenced scene? I ran into a few issues recently where it wouldn't render multiple instances if they were referenced in. That was in Maya 2008 though, not sure if that issue has been addressed or not.
