Sly Stone

I never finished my last model (which was Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers) because I figured that there's no use in polishing a turd... so, I'm moving on.

I love Sly and the Family Stone's music. It's classic, funky, and fucking amazing. So, I'm trying to model Sly in a cartoon-ish style that I've been messing around with.

Please don't hold back, because I really would like to make this piece a portfolio quality model.

Right now it was 2,968 tris and I still need to model the arms, hands, shoes, and whatever other accessories I decide to put on.

Here's my reference pictures:

I don't see any likeness between the model and your refs. Study his feature closely and then translate them to the cartoony style.
For starters I think the nose is one of the most iconic ones. It's not that big and the front of the nostrils are raised quite a bit.
The forms of the face overall are more clean and angular as well.

I have some opinions about topology as well but I'll wait with that ti you've fixed the likeness issues.

    Hope it helps.
