Hey Everyone,
I'm a recent graduate, and have been working on this scene for about two months now. The goal is to have a big old west town like the upcoming Red Dead. The scene is still a long ways to go, as textures are first pass, and many more props and nature need to be added.
Unfortunately, still cant figure out how to upload pics.
I uploaded to an online host, but still cant figure it out. Sorry, but do i insert the link on this page? When I do, it just leads you to the my pics on the image service, but would rather the images just appear like I see on other peoples. Would really like to upload these pics. Thanks for your help. - JamesSy03

Check back on your post after you post it, that way you know if somethings messed up.
Well, i saw the image and I think it is a good start. But i consider that two months is a lot of time for just two buildings that are almost identical (unless you modeled interiors for them). The textures look good but right now I can't get a second look at them.
Keep going!
Now, seeing it all i can say you have a pretty cool city you have there.
The only thing that i have to say is that the road texture looks kinda weird.. , I would maybe tweak it a litlle bit to make it to look less like mud and more like sand (maybe make it less brownish )
Yea, the road texture is actually going to be completely re-done. I was not satisfied with the model, which I'm re-doing, and will obviously re-do the texture. New post soon. - JamesSy03
Been a little bit since my last post, wanted to ge tmore done, but stuff came up. I added some grass, rocks, changed the ground texture, and added some more stuff. Any comments/ critiques are greatly appreciated. Note, textures are first pass, still need a lot of work in my opinion, and if you have any tips, would appreciate it to hear them. Thanks - JamesSy03
First off, sorry about the forbidden image on my earlier pics, but had a problem with the image hosting servie, but now it's taken care off.
I wasn't happy with alot of the models/buildings I had, felt they were lacking detail, so went back to the drawing board, and added a bunch of detail to the models. I added boards sticking out on on some buildings, more varied windows, pillars, damage, plants, etc. Still lots ot be done. Any comments/critiques are greatly appreciated. Thanks - JamesSy03
I felt I needed to take a step back on this scene, and really get some more references to make my scene better. I went to an old west ghost town, and got alot of help with that, and decided to re-do alot of the models, as I felt each building looked like it was just built. I also came up with a little backstory on the town, and liked that it was small at one polint, but is now booming but corrupted. So alot of the early buildings and homes are missing boards, just more dilapidated, as well as the church has been abandoned, but the theatre and bank and such are more new. Enjoy, and comments/ critiques are greatly appreciated. Also, ignore the textures for now.
Thanks - JamesSy03
Do you plan on putting this in a game engine? It could really look great running around in real time. Hell, drop it in sandbox and you pretty much automatically get a nice sky. :P
Thanks for the comment and tip. I do plan on putting it in a game engine. Thats cool you wokr for Illfonic, ghetto golf snd nexuiz look awesome. Funny, I actually live in Denver, planned on applying to Illfonic when my two new scenes are done(my old scene is Sh&t!)
Also, there will be a train. Model almost finished, post in a day or so when it done. Thanks - JamesSy03
Here's a quick update of the train model in the scene, still needs a few more things, (mainly brakes) but model is almost there. Any comments/critiques are greatly appreciated. Thanks - JamesSy03
