COMPUTER GAMES GRAPHICS, Cambridge based, £18k - £27k + benefits
Jagex Ltd, the UKs leading independent Online Games Studio, is looking for a talented 3D Modeller to join its large Graphics department.
Working with our continually evolving in-house technology, you will be responsible for the development of environment, character, and object assets for RuneScape; the Worlds most popular free to play MMO.
The ability to work from concept and deliver consistently high quality models is therefore absolutely essential. A particular interest and skill in low polygon modelling is also necessary given the need to ensure relatively small file sizes for speedy download within our highly innovative game engine.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE
- Produce high quality, optimised models which adhere to established styles and concept art
- To take direction and work with the Lead Modeller to maintain game style and quality
- Take responsibility for keeping assets optimised, organised and functioning in game as required
- To maintain a good level of communication with all relevant team members
- Keep up to date with developments to our in-house tools and relevant engine issues / limitations
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong interest in computer games
- Excellent understanding of fundamental principles of low poly modelling
- A particular skill and passion for 3D modelling computer game assets
- High levels of imagination and creativity
- Ability to consider technical and gameplay aspects as well as the aesthetic
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- High level of interest in MMORPGs or Online Gaming
- Working knowledge of the gaming industry
- Demonstrable experience of modelling within a games company or a modding project
- Relevant Art Degree
SALARY
£18k to £27k + negotiable depending on experience, plus excellent benefits package including annual bonus, private health care, gym membership and other benefits

Cambridge, United Kingdom. Candidates must be willing and able to work full time from our studio in Cambridge.
