ANIMATOR
COMPUTER GAMES GRAPHICS, Cambridge based, £18k - £27k + benefits
Jagex Ltd, the UKs leading independent Online Games Studio, is looking for a talented Animator to join its large Graphics department.
Working with our continually evolving in-house technology, you will be responsible for the animation of 3D models for RuneScape; the Worlds most popular free to play MMO.
The ideal candidate will be able to adapt the way they animate to conform with the established in house style. An interest in producing animation within game engine restrictions via the use of intelligent problem solving is therefore essential.
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE
- Design, creation and development of 3D Animation using in-house tools for all of the companys graphical requirements
- Creation of multiple animation assets ranging from facial animation to boss fights on massive creatures
- Taking responsibility for organising and time management of assigned individual tasks and group projects
- Heading up projects and delegating tasks to junior team members
- Keeping the lead animator updated with progress reports and project changes
- Maintaining close communication between members of graphics and other teams
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A keen interest and skill in the art of animation
- Previous experience within computer animation, preferably within the games industry
- A good understanding of key posing, timing and weight with the ability to animate many create types, not merely bipeds
- A good knowledge and ability in 3D Animation and modelling in any chosen software
- Ability to pick up new tools quickly
- Great communication skills, a true team player, motivated and passionate
- Creative and imaginative with a positive can do attitude to problem solving
SALARY
£18k to £27k + negotiable depending on experience, plus excellent benefits package including annual bonus, private health care, gym membership and other benefits
LOCATION
Cambridge, United Kingdom. Candidates must be willing and able to work full time from our offices in Cambridge.
